Spring Flipping

Went out to a couple local ponds with my buddy. Got a few small LM and some pickerel at Woods pond in the morning. Decided to go somewhere else. Started flipping the brush. First flip and I set the hook into a good one. Fight him to the boat and he gave me hell. As I was pulling him up into the boat he thrashed and threw the hook. Got a good look at him and he was BIG! I was beside myself. I almost couldn't fish anymore. Got it together and kept going. Toward the end of the day I see a nice tree laying in the water. Flip in and let it fall through the branches. Line took off like it was shot out of a cannon! Set the hook and he darts under the boat nearly pinning my rod to the side. Yank him out and my buddy grabs him. 5.5LBs Happy ending to my day. Got about 5 or 6 more 2-3 lbers throughout the day. Not bad. Good start to the season
